Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, also known as the underwear bomber pleaded guilty to his 2009 crime on Christmas day. The Nigerian attempted to blow up a Northwest Airline Flight (flight 253), but failed after the bomb didn't go off properly. He went before Judge District Judge Nancy Edmunds, where he pleaded guilty to all 8 felony counts and faces life prison. His charges includes conspiracy to commit an act of terrorism, attempted murder, and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.

Abdulmutallab admitted to the government that he was working for an American Muslim cleric by name of Anwar Awlaki, who ran an Al Qaeda group before being killed by the U.S and Yemen. The underwear bottom is set to be sentenced next year January 12.
