The First Family Attend The Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial

Yesterday, a dedication ceremony took place in Washington D.C at the Washington Mall for the unveiling of the Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial. The ceremony was suppose to be held on the 48 year anniversary of the 1963 "I Have A Dream" speech on August 28th; however, it was postponed because of Hurricane Irene. Reverend Al Sharpton, actress Cicely Tyson, Diahann Carroll, U.S Representative John Lewis, Reverend Joseph Lowery, Andrew Young were amongst those who attended the event, while the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, Mary Mary, Stevie Wonder, and others blessed the ceremony with their lovely vocals. Representative John Lewis spoke at the ceremony and reminisced on the walk in Washington 48 years ago.

"I'm the only one still around."

"He was arrested, jailed, beaten and constantly harassed. His home was bombed. He was stabbed. he suffered the slings and arrows of hate."

"Come and walk in my shoes. Dr. King is telling you that we have changed. We're better people. We're a better nation."

The first family (President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and their daughters) also attended the dedication ceremony.The president delivered a speech, where he reflected on progress our country has made since Dr. Martin Luther King's time, but we still have more work to do and face challenges today.

"Nearly 50 years after the March on Washington, our work - Dr. King's work- is not yet complete.

Progress was purchased through enduring the smack of billy clubs and the blast of fire hoses. It was bought with days in jail cells and nights of bomb threats.
"Let us not be trapped by what is. We can't be discouraged by what is. We've got to keep pushing for what ought to be."

"[Dr. King] will stand for all time, among monuments to those who fathered this nation and those who defended it. A black preacher, no official rank or title, somehow gave voice to our deepest dreams and our most lasting ideas. [...]I know we will overcome. I know there are better days ahead. I know this because of the man towering over us."

Hank Williams Jr. Hitler Comment About President Obama and Apologizes

Recently, country singer Hank Williams Jr. made a couple of negative statements about President Obama on Fox News. The singer made an appearance on Fox show "Fox & Friends" with hosts Gretchen Carlson, Steve Doocy, and Brian Kilmeade. He was asked by host Gretchen Carlson about his favorite in the Republican presidential race, he replied "nobody." But the conversation went a different direction when Williams made a comment about the President. Read the dialogue below:

Hank Williams: Remember the golf game?

Steve Doocy: Boehner?

Hank Williams: That was on the biggest political mistakes ever.

Co-Hosts: Why?

Hank Williams: That turned a lot of people off. You know watching, you know, it just didn't go over.

Gretchen Carlson: You mean when John Boehner played golf with President Obama?

Hank Williams: Oh, yeah! And Bident and Kasich, yeah. Uh-huh

Gretchen Carlson: What did you not like about it? It seems to be really pivotal moment for you.

Hank Williams: Come on. Come on. It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, Ok?

 After the statement was made, the three hosts seemed uncomfortable. Brian Kilmeade said, "Yeah, I don't understand analogy, actually." Williams responded to Klmeade by stating"

"I'm glad you don't brother, because a lot of people do. They're the enemy.... Obama! And Biden! Are you kidding/ The Three Stooges."

First Lady Michelle Obama Blesses The Cover Of Essence Magazine

You got to love Essence magazine for their hard work and exclusive issues. The magazine's October issue is celebrating the "28 Most Influential Black Women." Those women include Oprah Winfrey, Jada Pinkett Smith, Valerie Jarret, Iyanla Vanzant, Shonda Rhimes, and more. One of the prominent woman on this list is first lady Michelle Obama, who graced the cover of the October issue. In an interview with essence, Michelle Obama reminisces about her trip to Africa and shares a message of empowerment to young women.

"My story to young people people around this country and the world, is, Don't look at me as the First Lady first, look at me as Michelle Obama, a girl who grew up on the South Side of Chicago. Because i was there, and this is attainable. There is no magic to this. It is hard work...."

Fox Nation Refer To President Obama's Birthday Celebration As A "Hip-Hop BBQ"

As many of you know, President Obama celebrated his birthday this past Thursday August 4^th. The president celebrated his 50^th birthday privately at the White House with a few guests, which included Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Charles Barkley, Hillary Clinton, Chris Rock, Nancy and Paul Pelosi, Reverend Al Sharpton, Bill Daley, and Valerie Jarrett.

Well, we know about Fox News and their agenda against the president… But FOX Nation seemed to beat FOX News to the punch with this one. They published an article with a headline that read:

O'Reilly And Ingraham Attacks Chris Brown And 50 Cent

So Bill is at it again. Yeah, as in O'Reilly. I swear FOX just doesn't stop. Last week, Bill O'Reilly and his fellow FOX news Laura Ingraham had a conversation about Chris Brown. The spoke on the public's acceptance of him after a controversial two years of his professional and personal life. But the two decided to take it up a notch and take shots at 50 Cent also, after he decided to speak his mind via twitter and defend Chris Brown against FOX News. Bill goes on about the two, where he stated that he wold love to have 50 Cent and Chris Brown on the O'Reilly Factor, so he attack them like he did Lupe Fiasco. 50 responds again and tweeted:
